See the 'Mona Lisa' in the comfort of your own home. This is one of the best interactive web sites we've seen. It is packed full of information and has an excellent gallery. Top of the arts on-line and off.

This is a great site boasting the best and most inclusive directories of UK galleries on the Net. It also has a Y24 section that focuses on the contemporary collections and galleries that are available.

London Transport Museum
a website chronicling London's transport history from 1800 to the present day. Situated in London's Covent Garden, there's a live video feed filming its Piazza.

The National Museum of Science and Industry
This is a front-end site for those of three: The Science Museum in London, The National Museum of Photography, Film and Television in Bradford and the National Railway Museum in York. All three are definitely worth a look.

The Museum of Photography is an inspirational site for all those budding photographers. It has an outstanding exhibition of photographs, all available to view at the touch of a button.

Victoria and Albert Museum
A well designed site that has considered offering more than just a version of the actual experience. It's easy to use, but there are also exclusive on-line exhibitions too.

A really stylish and impressive site, with plenty to show off. Exhibitions are backed up with lots of information as well as discussion areas and photographs.

This is a functional but thoughtful website of one of Britain's oldest galleries, dedicated to portraits. Here you can find out everything that you'd need to know before you actually went to visit the gallery.

National Museums and Galleries of Wales
A good umbrella site that offers access in one place to the disparate artistic resources of Wales. All the information is available in both Welsh and English.

Tate Gallery
Excellent design and thought provoking content in this site which covers the different branches of the gallery in Liverpool, St Ives as well as in London, with a preview of what will be on offer at the new Tate on Bankside in Central London in 2000. There's focus on the temporary exhibitions which are so easily missed.

The Wallace Collection
A little known, but well presented gallery, which has made the most of being on-line to highlight its attractions; a diverse collection, with plenty of information on its different sculptures, paintings and other artifacts.
